Gerald McMullin received the William Danforth Award, the Most Outstanding Back, and was the Masonic Lodge Essay winner. Nancy Howell received the William Danforth Award, the Reader's Digest Award, and OSU Regent’s Scholarship. The Junior class started the year off by elect- ing class officers. They are: Janie Teders - President, Carl Themer - Vice-President, Christy Hubbard - Secretary, Glanice McAdoo - Trea- surer, and Pam Sanders - Reporter. The Junior class float, entitled The Hospital, placed second in the Homecoming parade. Rid- ing atop the float was our charming class queen, Christy Hubbard. Ann Mueggenborg and Neil Moss were elected Junior class favorites. After a long, hard week of activities - we placed second in the Annual King and Queen contest. Many long hours were spent organizing our prom which was entitled, Evening in Paris. We feel our time and work was well spent. We would like to thank our sponsors, Mrs. Ferguson, Mis. Gerald Mc- Mullin was chosen Mr. FBLA, and he placed 6th in the Mr. FBLA finals at the State FBLA Convention. 115 Future Farmers of America The Kingfisher FFA Chapter had a number of outstanding accomplishments for the 1972-73 year. Danny Struck had a Grand Champion Duroc Barrow, Mike Eaton had a Grand Champion Suffolk, and Lonny Patton had a Grand Champion Trio in Poultry. Mark Eaton also had die Grand Champion Steer at the Cow Palace in California. The FFA Chapter did quite well at Speech contests. Scott Smith won 1st at Bi- County in FFA, Joe Markus won 1st at Bi-County in Greenhand, and Sandy Hix won 1st at Bi-County in Soil Conservation. FHA adopted two in-depth projects. One of them was a volunteer tutoring service with the St. Peter and Paul Catholic School. The other was a youth organization of fourth and fifth graders. This organization was patterned after the high school FHA. These in-depth projects were correlated with the National FHA Headquarters. Accompanying them were the Junior Attendants, Brandon Meacham and Christy Kay Cass. 119 Vocational Industrial Clubs of America During the 1972-73 school year, VICA members worked furiously selling red carpets in order to promote Northwest Oklahoma. In addition to this, they also sold all- purpose cleaner. On October 17 the VICA officers attended a Leadership Conference. The KHS VICA chapter attended VICA Legislation Day on February 14 in Oklahoma City. On March 27 VICA attended a district contest for opening and closing ceremonies, and the Cosmetology girls attended their district contest on March 14.
