Text from Pages 1 - 120 of the 1967 volume:

DL 196 7 In many ways our year at K. H.S. could be compared to an ocean voyage. Some days were stormy” and the sailing was rough. But, after every storm the sun came shining through and we once again enjoyed smooth sailing. In keeping with this seafaring mood we have chosen as our theme for the 1967 Yellowjacket, The Good Ship K. H. S. With our voyage swiftly drawing to a close we pause to catch a final glimpse of the happiness we’ve shared and the friends we’ve made. This voyage has been filled with many experiences—some happy and some sad--which we shall never forget. The joys, the sorrows, the hard work—these are all part of our memories of this voyage which we have tried to preserve for you through the pages of this yearbook. 2 JCJJ.S. yy We, the Yellow jacket staff, dedicate “The Good Ship K. H. S. to the parents of the K. H,S. student body. Without their love and confidence the success of our voyage would have been impossible. Their sacrifices have been many and to list them would be hopeless. We would like to say “Thank you, ” for all the help you have given us throughout our voyage. Jab(e of Contents I. You all embark at the same time with possibly the same destination in mind, Graduation. Some may fall overboard along the way, others will decide to leave the voyage be- fore its completion at some lesser port. For those who finish the trip, many vehicles await to take you along the byways, highways, and skyways wherever your dreams may guide you. Did you ever think of your life as a trip. A long trip or a short trip, but a trip that you will make only one time? If you are going to make it a successful trip, you should plan it carefully. The counsel and guidance of those that have the made the trip previously is of great importance. This counsel and guidance may be found by talking to people, or by studying the works of those who have successfully completed the trip. 6 f- ersonne (Offi icerS W. L. I hope that in future years The Good Ship KHS will be cherished memento of the voyage--a reminder of favorite classmates and all other cherished hours. Those who have completed the voyage of the four years of high school must now begin a new, more exciting voyage. A voyage that will mark them for their entire life. In whatever degree of success or failure we may find ourselves in years to come, if a glance at these pages will lighten our labors—if only for a single moment—we deem The Good Ship KHS worth while. Each of the crewmen of The Good Ship KHS had a part in making this cruise one to be remembered. Each seafaring event will be remembered. Some were happy and others were sad, but they all made our cruise--a time never to be forgotten. I want to express my appreciation to the staff members for all the hard work they put into this book. A special thanks goes to Mrs. Post, yearbook advisor, whose knowledge and patience were an important part of our endeavor. I hope The Good Ship KHS will recall one of the memorable years of your voyage. no contributions Peoples National Bank Vieth Brothers Doyle Johnson Pontiac-Buick GMC Wildwood Florist Meacham's Studio Dr. A.R.
