Kingfisher’s chapter of the National Honor Society was established in 1952, at which time seven students were initiated. Only five per cent of the junior class and fifteen per cent of the senior class are eligible for membership. According to national rules, selection is based on scholar- ship, character, leadership, and service. Initiation of the new members of 1953 was held in a public assembly. Each candidate was presented an official pin and membership card. Mrs. Lewis Solomon is sponsor of the group. The State Honor Society includes those who rate scholastically in the upper ten per cent of the high school. This is computed on the basis of the past two semesters’ work.
