CLASS OFFICERS ADAIR STALLCUP Secretary-Treasurer NORMAN HALE Vice-President LEROY GILLILAN Reporter RICHARD DULANY President denier We of the senior class of 1953 entered the new school year with the determination to achieve outstanding success in all fields. Under the spon- sorship of Mr. Books, we elected our class officers and prepared for the business of our last school year. Our class has been comparatively small with only thirty-six members. But seniors have been active participants in all school activities, thus making up the lack of quantity by an abundance of quality. Our first social activity was our hayrack ride, and even though some of us almost froze, every one had a wonderful time. We seniors were in charge of homecoming festivities. Homecoming is always one of the big events of the school year, but this year it seemed better than ever to us seniors, anyway. Our float, decorated in blue and white and built around the theme, “Let Freedom Ring,” won second prize in the parade. At the game that night, our senior football queen was crowned, and we were very proud of her. The beautiful scene seemed to inspire the football team, too, for we won a decisive victory over the other team. “Gather ye rosebuds while you may, Old time is still a’flying,” seemed to have influenced the senior girls, for at the last count three were married and six were engaged. The reali- zation that “old time really is a’flying” came to us with a shock when we ordered our graduation announcements. But we feel that the year has been one of our very best—full of memories, laughs, hard work, some trials, but not one single regret.
