VOCAL DEPARTMENT The fie lie cff the We At ARGUS DICKERSON The Vocal Department’s third year proved to be a busy one. The boys’ quartette and girls’ trio were kept in good practice by singing at club meetings, banquets, and celebra- tions. Some of the highlights of their year were entertaining for the Chamber of Commerce Banquet, the F.F.A. Bi-County Meeting, Altrua Study Club, and the Christmas Band Concert. At Christmas, Miss Dickerson presented her Junior High music classes in a Christmas Concert. The various classes were combined to form a massed choir. Smaller select numbers were presented from each class. About 115 students par- ticipated in this program. During the spring, soloists, trios, quartettes and the ac- companists were kept busy going to county, district, and state contests. In the spring of ’51 vocal students put over the operetta “The Belle of the West” in grand style. The cast along with the audience had the time of their lives.
