Class of 1960 REBECCA H ORN DAVID W I LLIAMSON KIRTLEY WOODCOCK HUB E RT NORTON M A XINE LUCE SAND R A NORTON JOS E PH HUTCHINS J EAN OLIVER EVANGELINE CHADB O URNE ROSWE LL CROCKER VERNA PHI L BRICK DAVID BO Y NTON J OYCE LOVEJOY ARTH U R THOMPSON DO N ALD HAMLIN CEC I L LEEMAN MELD O N GILMORE MIRIAM REID RO S ETTA PINKHAM On September 3 T958 twenty Junuors returned to Kungfleld Hugh School Before In the annual Magazune Campaugn Donald Hamlun was assustant manager for the first semester was over we lost one student Lendell Chase makung our class membershup nuneteen At our flrst class meetung we chose the followung oftlcers Presudent Meldon Gulmore Vuce President Verna Phulbruck Secretary Davud Boynton Treasurer Jean Oluver Student Councul Representatuve Rebecca Horn Shortly after hus electuon Davud Boynton resugned hus office and Evangelune Chad had enrolled un the Druver Educatuon class whuch met every actuvuty peruod and prevented hum from attendung any class meetung held at that tume Our class actuvutues have been few We catered to the auctuon at the late Mabel Caswells on October II and I8 T958 On November 7 T958 we had a Hunters Ball In December we had a fudge sale and a record hop Durung our February vacatuon we are consuderung beung sponsors to a record hop furnushung entertaunment for ourselves and for the skuers un the races on Sugarloaf In the sprung we hope to hold the annual Junuor Prom and we wull put on the Commencement Dance the school and Verna Phulbruck and Cecul Leeman were the captauns respectuvely for the uunuor gurls and boys Several members of the uunuor class were un basketball On the gurls team were Evangelune Chadbourne Maxune Luce and Verna Phulbruck Sandra Norton was the gurls manager On the boys team were Cecul Leeman Hubert Norton and Davud Wulluamson Last fall Donald Hamlun Cecul Leeman Hubert Norton and Davud Wulluamson ran cross country Meldon Gulmore Joseph Hutchuns Cecul Leeman and Davud Wulluam Thus wunter Evangelune Chadbourne Maxune Luce and Davud Boynton are tak ung lessons Monday afternoons on Sugar loaf Mt Davud has also taken part un two sku meets Several uunuor gurls have been practucung wuth Mrs Wung and Mrs Lander un the Gurls Chorus They unclude Evangelune Chadbourne Rebecca Horn Sandra Nor ton Verna Phulbruck and Muruam Reud The uunuor class has been represented un the band under the unstructuon of Mr Flagg of Strong by two members Jean Oluver and her saxophone and Davud Boynton and hus trumpet 1 I l l ' I I . . . Some of the Junuars have held regular posutuons on the staff of The Sku Lft They are Jean Oluver edutor un ch ef Muruam Reud class editor Verna Phulbruck exchange edutor and Cecul Leeman lake edutor Regular reporters are Maxune Luce Sandra Norton and Davud Wulluamson Jean Oluver was elected ossustant edutor of The Abram Breeze Also having edutorual posutuons on the staff are Sandra Norton lunuor edutor Verna Phulbruck dramatuc editor Muruam Reud photo edutor and Davud Wulluomson lake edutor Cecul and Davud helped sell ads on trups to other towns Others uncludung Davud Boynton and Donald Hamlin have helped sell ads to merchants un town Durung the first half of the year Rebecca Horn Verna Phulbruck Muruam Reid David Boynton Donald Homlun Joseph Hutchins and Kurtley Woodcock were all enrolled un the druver education class taking the study course durung actuvuty peruod and doung all theur druvung after school The last semester thus year these Junuars are enrolled Evangelune Chadbourne and Sandra Norton These actuvutues show you what we have school membershup It does not seem pos suble that there us only part of one semester left of thus year and that we wull be Senuors un so short a tume BE T SY MOORE T H OMAS BOYCE D E NNIS BAKER S TEVEN MORRELL C O LBY ROBINSON P ATRICIA WOODFORD ARDELL C H ADBOURNE 0 LIN WHITE FAYE McKENNEY GE O RGE WALKO LAW R ENCE NIEMI D E NISE NICHOLS LORRAINE DAVID S ON Class of 1961 On September 3 T958 suxteen Sopho mares returned to Kungfield Hugh School ta start a new school year All of the students from the freshman class of last year came back except Joan Walker whose family had moved back to New York Two stu dents were added Walter Baker and James Bunker They both left however a short tume later Walter to enlust un the Unuted States Marine Corps and James to work un the North Anson Reel Company Joyce Abbott also left us Our class officers are President Dennus Baker Vuce President Lorraune Davudson Secretary Patrucua Woodford Treasurer Steven Morrell Student Councul Representative Denuse Nuchols In the Magazine Campaign last fall Lorraune Davudson and Steven Morrell were class captauns for the gurls and the boys respectuvely Lorraune dud very well as a salesman too for she was the second hughest salesman un the school Lorraune Davudson and Betsy Moore were the only sophomore gurls to be on the Krngfield Hugh School gurls basketball squad There were two boys on the boys' team Steven Morrell, who had a regular startung posutuon, and Olun Whute, who also saw quute a lot of actuon thus year Both of these boys play baseball Lorraune Davudson has sung un the Gurls Chorus There are three band members un our class Faye McKunney, who plays the snare drums, Betsy Moore, who plays the clarunet, and Steven Morrell, who plays the trumpet Faye also played her electruc - - 11 - i 'uf ' .
