Or what would Columbus say rf he saw the metropolrs of New York Boston or San Francrsco Would he be ashamed of the turmorl that thrs coun try rs 1n'7 Would he be sorry he ever had the great expectatrons that he drd '7 I belreve that rf he could see only the good parts of our brg crtres and sub urbs he would feel proud that he was the rnsprratron of the other men that really drscovered Amerrca But he wouldn t see only the better parts of our great country he would see the slums and waterfronts He would see skrd row and ll the other drrty places of that he had helped drscover the Unrted States or would he be ashamed? What causes such a strong and democratrc country to have these drs honorable places? Is our country too brg or rs rt the people? Do we have people rn the country that dont care enough about freedom to help keep rt?
