CLASS OF 1952 Fifteen green, but proud Freshmen climbed the golden stairway to enter high school on September 7, 1948, and two weeks later another member, Irma Turner, joined us, On September 9, we chose our class officers as follows: President ,,,,,,,,,, Malcolm Knapp Vice President, , , , , Gloria Dyer Secretary ,,,,, , , Virginia Trask Treasurer ,,,,, , , Robert Tufts Student Council Representative ,,,,,,, Odlin Thompson On October 1, the annual Freshfman Initiation was held, All the Freshmen participated by wearing old clothes, doing funny stunts, and abiding by the Esteemable and Exalted Sophomores' Laws , Freshrnen who took part in the Carnival Play, Swept Clean Off Her Feet were Leo Boyce and Malcolm Knapp, Oldin Thompson, Richard Trenholm, Hedley Reid, and Leo Boyce were on the cross country team, Our class was well represented by boys and girls on the basketball teams, For girls there were Gloria Dyer, Virginia Trask, Irma Turner, Ruth Donahue, and Eleanor Pinkham, Boys playing were Leo Boyce, Edgar Vose, Odlin Thompson, Richard Trenholm, Hedley Reid and Robert Tufts, Members of the class sold hotdogs and soft drinks at the Mexico and New Sharon games and earned a little profit, Gloria Dyer represented us at the Rangeley Winter Carnival and won third place in the fifty yard snowshoe dash, Odlin Thompson went to the Farmington and Wilton Winter Carnivals and won second place in the slalom in the Farmington meet, These were some of the events in our Freshman year at Kingfield High School Virginia Trask, -Class Editor

CLASS OF 1951! Class Officers: President ,,,, , , Helen Knapp Vice-President, , , , Robert Niemi Secretary, , , , , Beatrice Morrell Treasurer ,,,,,,,,, Paul Cory We found when we registered September 7, that we had lost four of our previous members: Kathryn Dyer, who transferred to Madison High Schoolg Marilyn Allen, who was married in the summerg Niilo Sillampaa, who joined the Armyg and Weikko Sillarnpaa, who is now employed at Stratton, We had one new member, Marilyn Howard, who had previously been going to Farmington High School, In November Ethel Phillips left school, but on the first of November we gained another member, Henry Carey, who transferred from Marblehead Massachusetts, That finally left us with ten members, Our Sophomore year started with the Freshman Initiation, the big event of the fall for us, In the evening following the initiation stunts, we enjoyed a Finnish dance accompanied by Alfred Pillxnan and his accordion, The girls who participated in basketball this year were Helen Knapp and Beatrice Morrell, Those who went out for boys' basketball were Robert Niemi, Martin Sillampaa, and Garnald Hewey, Our class sold hot dogs and soft drinks at the basketball games with North Anson and Strong, During the year we also had a few fudge sales to earn money as our financial account was rather low, Helen Knapp and Beatrice Morrell were in the Carnival Play, Swept Clean Off Her Feet , Several members of the class worked at various booths the day of the Carnival, Today we were told that Norma Pinkham'would no longer be with us so this cuts our class down to only nine pupils, On the whole I am sure all of us have enjoyed our Sophomore year and are going to miss being in our regular room next year, Beatrice Morrell, Class Editor IZ
