up -I October 24, 1964 was a redletter date and a forecast of things to come for King William High School's football fansg for on that day the Knights welcomed their first gridiron visitors, and their Alumni to their first Homecoming held at King William for several years. To climax the day'sactivities, the Knights romped over York Academy's Confederates as J. B. Barnette led the rally- ing team in a well- earned C1 2-61 victory amidst wildly cheering fans. The highlight of the Homecoming Parade was the crowning of Carolyn Johnson as the 1964 Homecoming Queen by Mr. Clarence Major, division Superintendent of Schools. Her prin- cesses were Frances Robinson and Rebecca Greeng Seniors, Wanda Chenaultg Junior, Margie Beasleyg Sophomore, Sandra Poynterg Freshman, and June Powellg Eighth Grade. The Queen and her court were presented again at the Homecoming Dance where the Vikings spent the evening entertaining student and alumni Knights. HOMECCDMING I964
