HHH My L HltHHtH T IS a pleasure to congratulate the class of 1944 as they, despite the disorders and dif- ficulties attendant upon a great war, complete their college work. The tenacity shown by this accomplishment augurs Well for their future. We rejoice that this year-book represents also the work of so many of the aviation stu- dents, who have been with us during the year. l am sure that all connected with King College join in heartiest felicitations to them as they go to their arduous task. King College was born in the aftermath of America's most disastrous conflict: it has sur- vived two other major wars of our country. This present war has created special difficulties for college students and for the College as a whole. But it has also given us special oppor- tunities for service and for growth. And so both the College and its latest group of alumni, military and civilian, may look to the past with satisfaction in work Well done, and with bright hopes for a future filled with significant accomplishment.
