Coronal lays foundation for memories In these pages, the staff of the 1973 Coronat has tried to relate to you a pcricxl of time. Tfie yesterdays of this past schiK)! year are filled with feelings and experiences that you will probably not know again: pride that carried us through winning football and basketball seasons, the anxiety brought on by semester exams, and finally, the sorrow facing the seniors of ' 73 as their time as King Mus- tangs drew to a close. Through pictures and prose we have tried to create a script that you may or may not follow at pleasure. It is a reminder of the long hours you spent studying for an exam, drilling for a rou- tine, practicing strategic plays, researching a debate topic, or being with friends. We can only furnish the script; the dialogues and actions are up to you. Yesterday, with its pride and disappointments, has passed, and is yours. Tomorrow will be what you decide to make it. he staff of the 1973 Coronat began work, the first week of school on what they hoped Id be the best yearbook yet. With advice from co-editors Etonna Loftin and Dcnise s, and sponsor Mrs. Terry Orr, the staff worked every morning first period in efforts et their pages completed before deadlines. Workdays were scheduled on Saturday mom- at school to finally complete the pages and get them mailed in. It took quite a while quite a few headaches, but the Coronat finally went to press. Senior staffers could rest I delivery day, but juniors worked on practice layouts and ideas for next year ' s book e waiting for Mrs. Orr to announce the editors. Once this was done, cover designs, lit plans, and organizations began for the 1974 edition, and headaches began again. organizations 89
