Exclusive celebrity interviews, size changt The Hoofbeat, King ' s school news- paper, took on a new look this year with exclusive interviews and a change in size. Reporters interviewed such celebri- ties as Dallas Cowboy quarterback, Craig Morton, and the lead singers of the rock group Bread. When Viet- nam advisor Dolf Drodge visited Corpus Christi, Hoofbeat reporters were once again there. Later in the year, Mike Walker, a 1000 pound man, told his story to our reporters. A beginning journalism class, taught by Hoofbeat sponsor, Mrs. Terry Orr, helped supply the staff with stories throughout the year. Reporters and photographers focused on the many accomplish- ments of King students, and covered the happenings around the school and community. Ginny Greene served as Editor-in- Chief, while Susan Whaley, Steve Blackburn, and Debbie Barger served as News Editor, Feature Editor, and Advertising Manager, respectively. 86 organizatron5

Pegasus strong in fourth year As in the past several years, a few interested seniors have taken it upon themselves to provide King alumni with perhaps their last link with the school through the publication of Pegasus. This news letter, published quarterly, was organized, typed, and distributed by co-editors Shannon Walker and Sally Bateman, who were assisted by Kathy Birnbaum. The girls included in this such information as the football and bas- ketball schedules, homecoming and favorites announcements, and announced engagements and mar- riages of ex-students. In return for their work, the girls asked for small donations of money or information from those receiving the letter. 1, Kathy Birnbaum assists Sally Bateman and Shannon Walker as they mimeograph copies of Pegasus. 2.
