Marine Science goes to Ingleside jetties The purpose of the Marine Science Club is to further interest in marine science and related fields. Through the maintenance and observa- tion of n tanks, members learned much about the marine environment. The club took field trips to Stcdman ' s Island, the jetties at Port Aransas and on the bayfront. and to Ingleside where specimens were collected for classification. Plans were being made for trips to Red Fish Bay, and the Aransas Wildlife Refuge as well as a tour of the Marine Science Institute located there. Money making projects such as bakesales, car washes, a raffle, and the sale of scacapes were planned in order to raise funds. Officers included President David Heacock, while Carol Pierson assisted him as vice presi- dent. Tracy Geddcs and Marcia Thompson served as recording and corresponding secretar- ies, respectively, while Raymond StalHngs was elected parliamentarian, and Debra Glen served as sergeant-at-arms. 1. Stash reflects thoughts and emotions Complete with student art, writing, and photography, Stash, the literary magazine, did not limit the students ' creativity. Members worked through- out the year selecting, typing, and arranging submissions from a contest held in December. Shant Campbell, editor-in-chief, and Melanie Curtis, assistant editor, helped other staff members sell greet- ing cards in an effort to keep the publication ' s price down. Beth Hovey, an editor; David Rosenblad, assistant; and the advertising committee, Mark Golding, Debra Caldwell, Michael Corcoran, Donna West and Terri Sherman, spent time outside class organizing the ad section of the mag- azine. 1, Stash is published by: Front row: Debbie Pe rkins, Parti Bazan, Patsy Tapp, Sherry How- ard.
