Vocational Education designed To train or start students in a field wliich, if pursued, will result in a marketable skill, trade, or ability to own or manage a business is the objective of the Vocational Education department. The work program is divided into five areas, each one of which offers three credits toward graduation. Co- ordinated Vocational Academic Educa- tion (CVAE), sponsored by Mr. Larry Lopez and Mr. Jack Benkendorfcr, is for students with specific learning needs. Independent Co-operative Training (ICT), sponsored by Mr. Arthur Ware, trains students in skilled occupations such as dental technique and mechanics. Vocational Office Education (VOE), trains those students who are to become secretar- ies, file clerks, or office managers, and is sponsored by Mrs. Cindy McMuUen and Mrs. Jo Cranford. Home Economics Cooperative Train- ing (HECE) relates to jobs such as focxl services, clothing, and fashion co-ordination. Mrs. Betty Puckett sponsors this. Mr. Adrian Huckabee and Mr. Sammy Bassous sponsor the Distributive Education (DE) pro- gram. This trains students in market- ing or merchandising and services in retailing, wholesaling, and service-sell- ing occupations. 58 organizations
