World Series pre-empts band and drill team Despite the cold fronts and strong October rains, students scurried through their various school activi- ties. Area bands and drill teams per- formed in Houston at the Astrodome, but were pre-empted from national television by the seventh game of the World Series. The Student Council held its first meeting; the CORONAT staff took orders for yearbooks; and the PTA sponsored Open House. Pep rallies took on a new look with the addition of the passing of the colors, the Star Spangled Banner, drill team hand routines, and the football team ' s own yell. The senior members of NFL went to Bandera to instruct a workshop in order to get a speech department established at Bandera High School. Government classes spent one day visiting the state capitol, the LBJ Library, and the University of Texas campus in Austin. Many notable visitors came to Cor- pus to attend the opening of the new Art Museum of South Texas. Other visitors to Corpus Christi in October included Bread, who came for a concert, and Dallas Cowboy Craig Morton, making a promotional appearance for the Holiday Inn. The month ended with Halloween activities for all, including trick or treating for UNICEF by many King srudents. 1- Visions of Mexico dance in Bick Brown ' s head as he busily counts money from yearbook sales. 2. Dean Conwell, Dick Glaser, and Jay Kucera try to convince Mr. Schunkc that you ' re never too old for Trick or Treat. 3.
