The team kept up Its good reputation with long, hard af- ternoon practices. They continued to bring in the trophies and gain momentum in tour- naments across the state. The netters opening win was at St. Stephens Tour- nament in October, in which they took first place Later the same month, they repeated their performance to capture first at the Edinburg Tournament. From then on, they swept through San Antonio and New Braunfels up to the second place crown in the Corpus Christi U.I.L. Tournament. The 1971-72 varsity tennis team — fron row: Liz Tucker.
