From Mexican food to carnations, the year rolls on The late winter months were filled with money making projects and cele- brations. The Biology Club held a Tape Deck Raffle, while CVAE sponsored a Com- edy Basketball Game For Valentine ' s Day, romantic car- nations and stuffed animals were sold by the French Club. The EMH pro- gram sponsored a Dating Game for St. Valentine ' s Day with appearances from such characters as Lance Ro- mancio and Joe Cool. The Band sponsored its annual Mexican Supper with great results. The office workers were honored at a pizza party at Shakey ' s. To honor the varsity and junior var- sity basketball teams on the day of dis- trict play-offs against IVIiller and Car- roll, respectively, an exciting pep rally was held. The Royalettes gave the players each a scrapbook, and the senior and junior girls honored them with small mementos.

Golfers tee off for a new season The King golf team had a very suc- cessful fall season. In the Corpus Christ! Fall Classic, King won second place in a field of 44 teams. Later at the San Antonio Golf Invitational, they captured first place in a field com- posed of the state ' s strongest teams. King retired the Hugh Rotating Trophy by winning the All City Golf Tourna- ment for the third year in a row. The J.V. team won over all of the other junior varsity teams in the All City J.V. Tournament. At the Browns- ville Invitational they finished second in a field of 28 teams. In the Spring season. King attended several tournaments and placed high in all of them.
