Hoofbeat features magazine format The Hoofbeat took on a new look this year in an effort to make the paper more pleasing to the eye. The Hoofbeat also took on a new advisor. Mrs. Terry Orr. Co-editors Sally Snider and Jeff Kanipe kept busy assigning stories, laying out copy, and gathering ideas for the next issue. During the summer some students won honors at Trinity University. Other events mark- ing the year were some workshops at Trinity during the fall and a trip to Aus- tin to attend the Interscholastic League Press Conference at the Uni- versity of Texas. 100 organizations

Orchestra plays in festival at Del Mar The Richard King High School Or- chestra got together this year to make beautiful music They practiced all year long for the American String Teachers ' Association festival at Del Mar in April, and for the UIL competi- tion In May. They performed at a Christmas program with some mem- bers of the band, and plan to use their profits from that to finance a trip to Garner State Park in May Susan Wil- liams, president, was a member of the all-state orchestra.
