CAPT IN'S MESSAGE In continuing her record of meeting all commitments, the KING has replaced a Heavy Cruiser and her escort and set the standards in the Tonkin Gulf. In looking through this book, you will remember that this was a hard working cruise and take justifiable pride in the KING and her accomplish- ments. We have labored long and hard. Together, we have shared the trials and joys of Destroyermen who go down to the sea in ships. We have shared the satisfaction that comes from top-notch professional per- formance in the service of our country. To each and every KINGSMAN I render a proud salute and a WELL DONE.
