O I School didn 't really start until the second Friday of school on Initiation Day. When we came to school that day, we looked like we were green and gawky. The girls looked sick without lipstick and the boys looked unusually glamorous with it. All freshmen had to walk before the student body to be judged. Jimmy Akers received first prize dressed as the best-looking girl, Frances Whitsett took second prize as a glamorous cow-girl with one boot and one high heel. This was the year, too, of THE big snow. During our Sophomore year various honors were given to members of our class. June Douglas was F.F.A. Barn Dance queen. Louise fDuartej Hudson was Homecoming queen, as chosen by the varsity football players. We had the traditional Sophomore Sock Hop. QPun?J Our Junior year started out right by receiving the class rings. On the dra- matic side, it was thrilling to give the Junior Play, ONIONS IN THE STEW. We were congratulated on our enthusiasm shown on the large turn-out for work- ing and acting. Stairways of Memories, the theme of our dreamy prom, fea- tured heart-shaped thrones. The Senior Class began their year by presenting their play HRAMSHACKLE INN, an action-packed mystery-comedy. Judy Wood and Wendell Thomarson were two of the many that played their roles exceptionally well. The varsity basketball team couldn't get along without our class because we had some of the top-notch players. The all C.C.A.L. boys from our class are Bill Huston and Gilbert Henderson. Highlights of our year areg Ditch Day flong awaitedj, Sen- ior Bench Trials, and GRADUATION! 6
