TY N IN F Y N JXTV JETEEN s J EN SIXTY- TY-NF NW IXTY-Nl INE N NE NIN! JIN t, + TY-h TEEI ' THE VIKING Published By Kindred High School Students Kindred, North Dakota As we entered school last fall, we were reading and hearing a lot about the great Youth Revolution which is sweeping the nation. KHS, grown larger with the addition of Davenport High School, met us with a form of counter-revolution , including a closed noon-hour and a seven period day. The students then staged their own personal revolutions to add their parts to the world revolution . A popular song of the summer, which related to this, told how Nothing Can Change the Shape of Things to Come. With the year now over, though, we can look back and say that nothing can change ..... 53339735! Table of Contents The Shape of the GROUP Activities ................. 5 The Shape of ACTION Organizations ........... 13 The Shape of EVENTS Athletics ................ 25 The Shape of Leaders and Followers Academics .............. 37 The Shape of the TROOPS Upperclassmen .......... 53 So, with several changes and improvements in the school building and schedules, with teams of high achievement in football, basketball, and track, and with a record number of missed school days from blizzards, floods, and sandbagging, this school-year truly created its share of actions and memories which we, the Viking Staff have tried to preserve for you in this, the 1968--1969 Viking. SPONSORS Here we sit, only seventeen days after the original deadline, and this yearbook is finally finished. We, the members of the staff, devoted our time and effort to try to make the 1969 Viking worth the troubles others had gone to to support it, and to try to produce a complete and accurate record of the events you, the students, experienced during the 1968- 69 school year. We hope you enjoy reading the resulting Shape of Things Gone By as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Vicki Erickson Leroy Erickson
