Murlel Lean flippmg coins to decide whether to raxse little boys w1th black mustaches or big boys w1th black mustaches As we peer farther unto the crystal ball we see Paul Nygaard sitting in front of hls used car lot playing Whxspermg on the piano Marlys has fmally reahzed her ambxtlon as head l1brar1an in the hbrary of Congress w1th a good fr1end close at hand as senator from North Dakota Ah just as we hoped Clarence Thompson is the star tenor of the Metropo l1t1an Opera and IS to be seen ln Richard Strauss Der Flaubermouse And Mar11yn Rassmussen as a1r stewardess between Kmdred and Wahpeton w1th that man Friday as co pnlot No Harold Sundqu1st IS st1l1 1n darkest Afrxca worshxppxng 1do1s Phyllls Myhre IS an old mand raxsing cats and Harold off and on We see Ernest Perhus as par1sh worker and subst1tute Sunday School teacher Wxlma Perhus IS teaching school and makmg her dally rounds 1n her jeep Walter Otterson has changed h1s name and is now raxsmg little Brodshaugs near Horace We see Holly Kruse up m her laboratory experunentmg w1th musical Hol stems Duane Stenberg fa1led to make the Navy and is now advertlsmg for Adler s hexght builders We are told that Manan Jensen is a secretary sitting on her boss s knee She seems to fmd her job quxte satmsfactory Eugene Lykken IS sxttmg up ln Congress and fxlibustermg for quack grass m North Dakota Geraldine Trom IS a fastidmous old mamd fFossy that xsj And Earl johnson IS m Ind1anapol1s trymg to break all the speed records And lucky Dot Swenson IS actmg as Cigarette G1rl um the Stork Club Don t we envy Orvxlle Hassen? SENIOR CLASS HISTORY One decade and two years ago five little girls and five little boys bega their trek to the little red schoolhouse for their first excrtmg school days and to meet their lovely teacher Miss Bechtel The five little girls were Charlotte Blihe Marlene Elstad Marian jensen Dorothy Swenson and judity Trana and the five little boys were joe Evenson Paul Groethe Eugene Lykken Elmer Olson and Clarence Thompson In the fourth grade Richard Stenberg and Everett Love joined our happy l1ttle tribe Wilton Barston and Daniel Garrielsen were added and Everett Love and Richard Stenberg subtracted at the beginning of the fifth grade In the sixth grade LaVaune Grmaker Joined us and Charlotte Blilie and Judith Trana left us We were finally growmg up We were injunior High School Geraldme Trom Martha Johnson and Duane Stenberg came into our midst LaVaune Grmaker and Daniel Gabrielsen left our class Martha Johnson left us at the end of the seventh grade because of illness In the eighth grade Marlys Thoen became one of our classmates In 1944 twenty nine green green freshmen entered the Halls of Learning of Kindred High School They were Marlene Elstad Paul Groethe Orvxlle Hassen Thor Hertsgaard Richard jalbert Marian Jensen Earl johnson Holly Kruse Eldon Larson Muriel Lean Eugene Lykken Phyllis Myhre Kenneth Nellermoe Bernel Nelson Paul Nygard Walter Otterson Ernest Perhus Wilma Perhus Marilyn Rasmussen Duane Stenberg Harold Sundqumst Melroy Svenkrued Dorothy Swenson Marlys Thoen, Clarence Thompson Marlowe Toppen Gordon Thrane Geraldine Trom and Kermit Twedt We were welcomed into our high school functions with a party given in our honor by the sophomore class At the begmnmg of our sophomore year the following boys were absent from our class Eldon Larson Melroy Svenkrued joe Evenson and Richard jalbert This year we were given the opportunity of welcoming the new freshmen into our school At the beginnmg of our Junior year Marilyn Rasmussen and Evelyn Otterson entered our class At the end of our Junior year Evelyn Otterson left us to become the bride of Mr A Mahlkow We presented the banquet for the senior class m the Kindred Church Par lors Our theme was Stardust Mrs Clayton Swenson directed our junior play Her Emergency Husband In our twelfth and last year at Kindred High we worked diligently to put out this annual We felt it was quite an under standing but realized the accomplishment to a high degree when it was finished As seniors we were given several 1'8SPOI'lS1b11lt16S m connection with differ ent activities to make us realize our advance grade and also to make us aware of future responsibilities Marlene Elstad one of our senior girls very ably took the lead in putting on the football banquet this year We feel this was a worthwhile feat which proved successful as over two hundred people were served at this affair Again were given full charge of another function which shortly followed the football banquet This was the carnival We feel the carruval was a huge success as we netted more income from that than any in the history of the school It was an all time record We put on the Christmas party and program for the rest of the High School.
