MUSIC IN 1947 1948 Under the d1rect1on of Mr A j Engel are the Hxgh School Band the Beg1nner s Band the Mlxed Chorus the Boys Glee Club and the Glrls Glee Club The grade muslc 15 under the d1rect1on of Mlss Betty johnson M1ss Lynn johnson and Mlss Beverly Rxse The band made 1ts f1rst appearance th1s school year at the 4 H Achlev ment Day m Casselton where mt marched In the parade As a publ1c1ty stunt for the I-hgh School Carnlval the band accompanxed by sololst Shlrley Fou cault and a glrls trlo made a tour of four ne1ghbor1ng towns A program s1m1lar to the one presented at the schools was presented at the carnlval that n1ght the Beg1nner s Band presented a Chr1stmas program Clarence Thompson was so lo1st wlth the Boys Glee Club and Sh1r1ey Foucault was so1o1st wxth the Mixed Chorus The band w1l1 present a concert january twenty nmth The program w11l feature Margy Kruse Holly Kruse and Donald Nellermoe 1n a woodwmd tr1o and Osborne Twedt Kenneth Nellermoe and Kelth Trom 1n a trumpet tr1o Soloxsts will be Margy Kruse flute and Holly Kruse clarlnet All the Hlgh School mus1c groups plan to enter the d1str1ct and the county musxc contests to be held 1n the sprlng At some tlme 1n the sprmg they w111 present a concert whlch w1l1 m part consmst of contest numbers Baccalaureate and graduatwn exercises wxll complete the muslc actl vxtxes for thxs vear.
