Q i 41' Glaup It is 1961, and after completing my naval career it is my first visit to Kimberly since graduation in 1951. As I came down Kimberly Avenue, the first thing I noticed was the huge sign pointing out the Kimberly Hotel I drove up and as I entered the lobby a former classmate of mine, HENRY JANSEN, the bellhop, took my suitcases On checking in, I found PAT ADAMS working at the desk After going to my room I decid ed to find a Shack LYLE BOLWERK, the waiting, the I found Kimberly Clark Corporation They also told EYCK is away playing third base for the St nice restaurant On asking I heard of HARK'S Snack met me at the door and showed me to my booth BILL order While I was came and talked to stenographers by the me that DICK VAN Louis Cardinals chief waiter, came and took my SMITS sisters, JANE and CAROL, that they are both employed as and BOB WEYENBERG is playing football for the Los Angeles Rams DICK THEIN has established quite a name for himself as a wrest ler Upon leaving I met DAVE MAAS, the chief of police, who was just making an arrest for speeding, the driver being JIM VANDEH Y He directed me to the new million dollar high school Entering the school I bumped into CHARLENE SCH EIDER, the school nurse She told me that THERESE VAN KESSEL was the newly hired secretary I was also informed that BOB PHILIPSEN is now the principal of Kimberly High School Leaving school and crossing the street I met the under taker, GERLD VAN GOMPEL, who says business is letting him down Proceeding farther I sew 'Buckshot's Garage Stopping in I found the proprietor to be no one but MARTIN JANSEN H told me, that he has had great luck in the Indianapolis Speedway with his hot rods JIM VAN EYCK is his chief mechanic while DON COREY and GENE STUYVENBERG are his best drivers DON COREY offered me a ride to the new hospital which was donated by the Wydeven Insurance Company, directed by COLLEEN Arriving at the front door I met Dr LARRY SCBNESE hurrying on an emergency case I found MARGARET KOENEN, head dietician, and under her capable direction were CARLA MAE DIETZEN and EILEEN SKELL working as nurses DON told me that RAY SANDERFOOT is doing fine in his newly established law office in Neenah In the hospital laboratory MARY VAN THULL, the noted scientist, was studying the cause of T B KZ

Glen P Across from the hospital was the 'YDRJRN 'ienery I learn ed later that it was run by DICK, a former classmate of mine Glancing up the street I noticed the sign of the newest Kimberly Beauty Parlor The head operator was LUIS HAGENS and vorkins under her were hAPY LOCHSCH'IDT, ROSIE KAMPS, and DIAIE V UDL ZANDEF As lick would have it, I happened to be present on the night RONALD VRRSTEGEh and his orchestra made their debut His orchestra consists of such great names as RONALD LODFRSOJ and his trumpet, LLOYD BUNNOV at the ivory keys, and is featuring eir soloist BEV LALCOLA, singing, NI Can Dream, Can't I H 'alking into the remodele' Custard Stand, my old hangout, I met CLAIRE BUSCH, the super duper custard scooper CLAIRE told me that RAY BEHLING is in the Marines as a Lieutenant The radio was playing and I heard ABBIE FRAS hTTO'S latest news report I learned that PAT SCHILTZ is the chief engineer at the station WKHS CLAIRE told me to be sure to visit the nev KUMBIER apart VELDEN, artistic caretaker of the gardens, was resting on the front stoop She told me the house had forty apartments and that GORDY NATROP, now mill manager, is renting one of the more exclusive ones As she was telling me about her job, she mentioned that she got her start from CINE ROIvbP'KO and AANK WULTERKENS who, after taking care of baseball diamonds for several years, have nox opened a school for students of land scaping Inouiring about ARGIE LIND and BRRNADITE VAPDFR JI LTN I found that they were do'ng social work in Chicago I was informed that JANET VPRHAJEN is doing worx as a professional model BE T also mentioned that DARLBNE VAPDrR ZANDEN is working for the TWA as a hostess and li es her work very much It was now time for me to leave the fair city of Kimberly, but I made one more stop at the nBowl1ng Spot , a club and bowling center owned by EVrRETT ROOYAAKERS In the lounge I found a school chum of mine, ALBERT VANDER UIELEN, who manages the club In this short but informative visit to m home town I met many old friends, saw their business establishments, and heard about the progress of all my former classmates DON KNEEPKELS Rx l as Q elf xi..
