Mary Ann Batt Ins Fox lane Wllson Lucxlle Ogden STUDENT COUNCIL Pres1dent lane Wxlson FIIST Academlc Representauve Luc111e Ogden Thlrd Academic Representatxve Helen Gersten Fourth Academlc Hepresentatlve Sally Burton Frith Academ1c Representatxve Mary Ann Batt SCHOOL NOTES 1938 39 When school opened ln September we found Mlss Genaway of Smrth College ln Mrss Coltons place Mrss Colton xs up rn Boston studymg for her masters degree The Fall Frollc was held rn November and each glrl came as the tztle of a song We also had two mterestlng vrsxtors soon afterwards Mr Reddy came and told us of the Red Cross and then connection wxth the hurrlcane rehef work whxch o curred by the way the frrst day of chool Mxss Cushman of the Grenfell Mrsslon tn Labrador gave us a very xnterestmg account of then work and orgamzatxon there 'I'he hrst part of the year was then fmrshed up wxth a wonderful and decrdedly snowy Thanksgxvrng vacatxon Our b1g event of the season was the Klmberley Academy play Blg Hearted Herbert m whxch our gxrls fund the Academy boys? acquxtted themselves nobly A dance followed the play and then Chnstmas vacatxon was upon us After the reopemng of school m lanuary the Home School Assocxatxon gave a very successful bndqe lor the benefit of a Krmberley Scholarshrp fund Later on qulte a few sen ors went mto New York to see Raymond Massey m Abe Lxncoln rn Illxnoxs and another bnght spot was the dehghtful smgmq of the Hampden srngers The rest of the term was occupred wxth exams two holxdays tWash1ngton s and Lmcoln s blrthdaysl the vnslt of the Reverend Nostrand of St Lukes Church a prlgnmage to the Metropolltan to hear Lohengnn and a really remarkable concert by the Glee Club and the A Capella cholr And then suddenly another vacatxon was upon us lane Wxlson Presxdent of the Student Councxl page lwenly slx K I M B E R L E A V E S 5 .
