9 STORY VI ln fhe sixfh grade we were enlivened by fwo small whirlwinds, Miss Winpenny and Miss Rhoades, losing anofher of our merry fhrong, Miss Finlay. We daredifhe dreadful decimal and gave our own impression of fhe use of windows by pouring ouf of fhem fo fhe dismay of all. Our new quarfers had sliding blackboards which we shuffled. back and forfh many fimes a day, buf we ended our rollicking mornings wifh neaf curfseys fo Miss Flannery. STORY VII Af fhis poinf our calm was upsef by fhe enfrance of Elaine Beling, Cecilia De Golyer, Marguerife Penflarge, and fhe refurn of Miss Finlay fresh from Ausfralia. We foiled over our increasingly difficulf work buf managed fo mix a considerable amounf of playing in wifh if. Our French became so experf fhaf we presenfed liffle French plays which our loving parenfs dufifully affended. Throughouf fhe year we sfrove hard. feeling fhe impending doom of fhe upper school, where we would be nexf year. STORY Vlll Now being in fhe upper school, we considered ourselves young women of infinife resource and sagacify. Wifh fhe addifion of Jackie Isaacs and Kiffy Ward, we blundered abouf fhe halls in a vain affempf fo change classes correcfly. The movies enfered our lives af fhis poinf and we spenf mosf of our fime worshipping fhe differenf sfars, whose picfures we fackecl under our desklids. Their only compefifion was l'larvard's foofball capfain, Barry Wood, whom we felf if necessary fo adore. The climax of fhe year came wifh a class picnic af Lake Valhalla, where we had a hilarious fime. STORY IX A knock af fhe door and enfer Miss Osborne. Marching down fo assembly would have been an ordeal if we could nof have casf admiring glances af fhe seniors. By fhis fime we had become accusfomed fo fhe bells and differenf classrooms. We spenf mosf of our Monday mornings discussing our fabulous week-ends which consisfed of felling abouf fhe Junior Assemblies. STORY X Our firsf year in fhe big room! We won fhe prize for our Fall Frolic skif, fhanks fo fhe inspirafion of fhe NRA. Affer Chrisfmas we welcomed Eva Menfzendorff and Marcy Buffum. Aside from fhe usual mixfure of sfudies and fudge, we failed fo acquif ourselves in any oufsfanding manner. STORY Xl Enfer Rufh l-lunf, Beffe Surbrug, Jodie Murray, and Kafie Websfer. The Glee Club was organized and many of us ioined if and Ienf our voices wifh greaf zeal fo fhe fwo concerfs given fhaf year. We spenf fhe enfire year preparing for Class Day, buf we felf fhaf fhe praise received when if was finally produced rewarded us. STORY XII And now, O Besf Beloveds. we have come fo The end of our fale. wherein we are seniors in 'rifle if nof behavior. We are beginning fo feel sad af fhe fhoughf fhaf affer so many years of happy companionship our class is going fo break up and each member musf pursue her way alone. We feel fhaf we are unable fo fully express our grafifude fo Kimberly and her able faculfy for all fhey have given fo us. THE YEAR BOOK STAFF, '36. I4
