When we remember Kimball Union twenty-five years from now, we will probably remember only the good parts. We have a way of forgetting the bad. I expect it will be that way with us, but the question is, How will we remember? Will we be able to laugh about our experience together? I hope so and I hope we can be together so we can laugh together. Remember the good times because those memories make life enjoyable, or at least tolerable. Learn from the bad times, then forget them. I hope you will take a moment through the years to remind me of the good times. At the age l shall be, l may have a tendency to forget both the good and the bad. ln your class we finally have a full slate of officers-the first since 1966. You are a class of excellence, as evidenced by the standard you set in GUYS AND DOLLS and your spring sports successes. Your academic excellence has been evident in the competition which existed for the top academic average. You are also a class of latent talent. I believe the years will reflect growth far beyond anything you have shown us in the years you have been at Kimball Union.

Mausi Olga Manno hasn't given twenty-six years of her life to Kimball Union without some considerable effect upon the atmosphere of the academy conveyed to so many generations of students and visitors. Since 1951, under Chief Brewster, Coach Carver, John Cotton and Tom Mikula, Mausi has served as hostess of the guest house, librarian and instructor in German. And much of the civilized grace which so many of us have come to associate with Kimball Union over the years has a direct correlation to the presence of this woman on the campus. This year, though she will remain as hostess of the guest house, Mrs. Manno is retiring from most of her active involvement with the academy-and, along with twenty-five other classes, the class of 1977 wishes to say, Thank you, Mrs. Manno, for all you have given to us.
