In Tribute . . On October l-L. Kimball llnion en- gaged Hebron Academy in football. and in the ensuing conflict one of the participants suffered a broken neck. The lad's name was Connie Russell. From that day on, even through the present day, Connie was bedridden at the Mary Hitchcock Clinic in Han- over: but he is not complaining about his injury. On the contrary. he merely looks upon it as another opponent in a contest. lie is lighting to over- come his adversities in the same per- sistent manner that he fought in athletic contests. For his courage. he is respected by all that know him. By showing that he could take the bad breaks with the good ones. he has exemplified the highest type of sportsmanship: and by his constant courage and fortitude. he has shown that he believes in a passage of an editorial from an issue of The Kim- ball Union which says: lt was indeed unfortunate that one of the participants from Hebron on the field of play should be in- jured to the extent of at broken neck. but all things dear have a bitter cost: victory in anything is, and justifiably should be, dear.
