The scene above is quite typical, for in the course of the average day, almost everyone enters the office at least once. Besides the usual business of school ad- ministration, Mr. Herbst carries on many other activities from here. The office is the nerve center for the Kiote Howls staff, the Annual staff, the oratory division of Declamation and Student Council. Perhaps the onemost vital placein K. H. S. is the office, but most of the students do not realize this until they begin to count up the things that are accomplished there. ri e0lYletl'g Afgegfa I WafLemafic5 The students of KHS count themselves fortumte that theyhavean exceptional ly com- plete curriculum in mathematics. Four years of math, Algebra l and Il, Geometry, and Trigonometry are taught. Miss Bradshaw, besides handling these subiecis, is Principal of Senior High. She also coaches declamation in the poetry and dra- matics division. One of the new challenges in education is a good background of mathematics, and KHS proudly Feels that itvcan meet that challenge. FRENCH CLUB The French Class is the newest of foreign languages added to the curriculum of KHS. Pictured is the French laboratory, an essential in- gredient in teaching amodem foreign language. French is also under the direction of Mrs. Boyd. Olzallguaged LATIN CLUB The KHS Latin Club, ConsiIium Romanium of l96O-6I under the di- rection of Mrs. Boyd is composed of the combined Latin I and II classes. The club is a menber ofthe State and National Junior Classical League. The State convention for i960 was held in Kimball--the site of the First one, held ten years before. MRS. CATHERINE B. BOYD Instructor Mrs. Boyd has been in- structor of the foreign lang- uages and English at KHS for a good many years and the Latin and French Clubs wish to dedicate this page to her. Pride in musical ac- complishment helps bind all instru- mental students together and forms another area in which all students of KHS are proud of their school. Much time and work is given to building a good music department. Mr, Piechowski has given 72 instru- mental lessors weekly, as well as solo. practice and band practice for A band and C band. The KHS band marches in unikarm for Homecoming, and plays for Pep meetings and at all home games. In these instances, it represents the school, and does a good job at it. ROW FOUR: W. Woodraska, D.
