CLASS OFFICERS Bill Leininger Marilyn Louthan Lois Robinson Gene Bowman Miss Golgart President Vice-president Secretary Treasurer Sponsor SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of '45, a band of timid (?) green freshmen eagerly thronged (anyway, we came in), to K.C.H.S. After a week of initiation, we were hardened to the brutality of the egotistical seniors. We chose Miss Desjardins to lead us past the pitfalls of the meager freshman existance. Our social activity was a Freshman Dance. After a year of abuse, we blossomed forth as Sophomores. Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Kelso, we found life easier physically but harder mentally. We shocked the social world with an unexpected Sock Dance. It was an outstanding success until some upper classmen got cold feet. Six class members were chosen to serve at the Junior-Senior Banquet and attend the Prom. On the morning of September 4th, we entered the portals of learning (anyway the side door), as upper classmen. The year of 47-48 held several outstanding social activities for us. Miss Kragel directed our Junior Class Play. —9—

CLASS HISTORY - Continued - - Almost Summer. With the able guidance of Miss Haas, our sponsor, we put on one of the most impressive proms ever held in K.C.H.S. The theme was Hawaiian, and the native dancers, imported ti leaves, and orchids added to the natural effect of the decorations. We might add that senior ingenuity wasn't good enough to outwit the shrewd juniors on Sneak Day. At last our goal was reached. We were Seniors. Memories of our own bitter past were kindled as we sought revenge on the lowly freshmen. We put on Atomic Blonde under Miss Swick's direction. We took a Senior Sneak Day, and a fine time was enjoyed by all. Seniors who have gone to school for thirteen years in Kimball are Marilyn Louthan, Dona Bradt, Beth Alden, and Jim Bickel. Members in Pep Club for four years are Beth Alden, Dona Bradt, Marilyn Louthan, and Dorothy Schneider. Kenny Kellner was the only four year letterman. K Club members are David Irwin, Claude Kelley, Clitus Kelley, Kenneth Kellner, Ray Pancheau, Glenn Vencill, David Janicek, Sterling Kath, Dick Wilson, Jim Bickel, Howard Barrett, Jack Stormberg, and Larry Pedrett. CLASS PROPHECY Beth Alden has been elected cheerleader at the University of Nebraska. We see her cheering for that famous football star, Kenny Kellner. The famous geologist Howard Barrett is getting along fine with his friends— the rocks. We now see Jim Bickel in the Navy with a girl in every port. In spare time he gives dancing lessons. Gene Bowman has become the driver of the Star Bus which runs from Scotts-bluff to Kimball. Somehow he always gets delayed at Harrisburg. Dona Bradt has won Rodeo fame. She is known as Calamity Jane. Margaret Buddecke is now the successful manager of the Hested's Stores, Inc. Robert Christiansen can't decide whether to take up banking or farming. Probably he will decide on the easiest. John Eby is running a gas station and is kept busy changing tires—or is it diapers? Speed demon, Harold Foos, just broke another record, also his neck. Gwen Huff is now part of the Hagen Company. She spends most of her time taking care of her little implements. David Irwin is a cartoon artist. Which is he, the cartoon or the artist? David Janicek and his wife Peggy are living happily on their farm. As yet they haven't decided what to raise. Bill Johnson is now a millionaire and has opened Johnson Hotels in all the leading cities. Danny Janicek has finally consented to let his son use his Plymouth provided that he is as careful with it as Danny always was. Sterling Frankie Kath is the new sensation of the bobby sockers. The Kelley twins, Claude and Clitus, are posing in Which Twin Has the Toni? ads. -10-
