The last rank of the Marching Band practices after school. TIIE KIIMIHN ' xv, - fe The band participated in eleven football games andfootball shows and played an im- portant part in homecoming activities and inthe homecoming parade. The band helped community efforts by appearing in four other parades. Winning first in inspection and a II division rating in marching were among the highlights of the band's activities. All of the twirlers received a I division rating and both twirling ensembles received the same at Regional Contest 'l'HIlllL IQIHHIIIIII IHNII K There are 126 students enrolled in the band program of which 50 are freshmen and sophomores. Ten members of the band made the all regional band, the largest grouping in the history of the school. Three mem- bers made all-state band, one regular and the other two alternates. The band's first interconcert was held in February, and in March the band banquet was held. The band entered the regional playing and sightreading contest in Waco in April. The Killeen High School twirling staff has worked hard this year for football games and various performances. They went to twirling contest in Mexia and made a clean sweep on both their solos and quartets. The twirling staff consists of five majorettes, a feature twirler, and an alternate, Sharon Hunter.
