Dear Y W PRUPHEE57' Hide Away Cabin Somewhere in Ohio June 23, 1968 I was thrilled to death to hear from you, and, of course, I'11 be very glad to co operate with you on the article that you are writing about me and my new play, about my old friends In regard to your request for an idea for a different approach, I think that I have just what you want I keep a very complete scrapbook, fl! all people in theatre dol and I'd like to tell you about some of the very interesting things that I find in it As I leaf through, one very colorful picturecatcheenw'eye It's a page cut from Vogue magazine featuring a new hair-do created by my old schoolmate, Loretta Carpenter The model in the picture is wearing a dress designed by Jeanne McFadden Remember, she won the Best In Fashion Award last year She draws some exclusive men's f3Shl0nS for Larry Smith, the country's top model for men's clothes On another page I see a picture which recently appeared on the cover of H1t Parade magazine It's Donna Lisle CYou know Donna, of course, don't you darl1ng? She's currently the most popular singer in the country I While I'm 100k1ng at these cut outs from magazines, I might mention an article cut from the N B A Jour nal CNational Education Associationl written by the now world famous educator, Beverly Ann Christopher And here on the next page is a model of the new atomic sub, S S Killbuck, sent to me by Alta Patterson f1rst woman to be named Secretary of the Navy Oh, here's a little memoir from one of m old friends who has found happlness, though no fa e It's a the former Luella Thomas, farm wife and mother of four next page I see a newspaper cl1poing about an alrplane wreck I really can't th1nk why I kept that oh, yes, now l remember The two hero1c nurses, passengers on the plane, who saved everyone a letter from On the let me see lives, were On the the wedding Sandra Iaylor and Bonnie Chanay same page is a bunch of pressed flowers of Marlene Reed CShe marr1ed her h1gh from a wedd1ng bouquet. But of course I remember decided to enter politics and was elected governor of Ohio dbrking under Governor Orr 1S another of my class mates, Welker JoneS He's a State Patrolman now, and I have a ticket for speed1ng to remind me of it Here's an ad torn fron a magaz1ne to remind me of another old fr1end It is advert1s1ng an 1roner in vented by Dean Humrichouser This marvelous new apollance has made Humrichouser a household word You know all abolt how the pro basketball games go, don't you, Walter? He graduated 1n the same class Another 1nterest1ng memento that I have saved 1S th1s silver dollar It was given to me by Jack Nyhart who, s1nce gambl1ng has been legalized 1n Oh1o, has made Killbuck famous as the Las Vegas of the Middle West A famous figure 1n the fleld of sports that graduated 1n my class 1S Jack Butler, the champion boxer Larry Haun sent me a reclpe the other day, and I have lt in m scrapbook Flght beslde the m1nk ta11 sent to me by the great hunter, NButchU Arndt Oh, hadn't I told you?
