Sponsor Foreword The Spirit My school has a spirit Freed by a rousing cheer, A clapping of hands, Or a broad smile of victory. She is a strong force in the math department and sponsor of the cheerleaders and Pep Squad. She has voluntarily given so much of her time to making the Pep Squad a very outstanding club. Everyone respects this teacher and looks to her for advice and help. She is never too busy to stop and talk with a student or to help the school in any way she can. For the Senior Class, this year has been the embodiment of the hopes and aspirations of their high school experiences. It has been my observation that the Seniors of 1968 have demonstrated both strength and courage as they face the distressing and unsettled days of conflict through which our nation is passing. It is my firm conviction that this group will depart from high school with the stability, the vigor, the imagination, and the will to explore the paths necessary for the advancement and the betterment of mankind. Sincerely, James F. Malone Superintendent Principal Dear Students, Carl Sandburg wrote, 'alt is the men and women, boys and girls poured in and out all day that give the building a soul of dreams and thoughts and memories. You -your dreams and thoughts and memories and aspirations-are the soul of Kilgore High School, which without you would be only an empty structure of brick and steel. The accomplishments of the students that have preceded you in our high school are many. We hope that the heritage that they have left for you will serve as additional motivation for you to attain the goals of your lives. No matter what your goals may he or what obstacles may he met, remember that we at Kilgore High School are concerned about and interested in the future of every one of you. We hope that you will develop your abilities to the fullest and make the most of your opportunities. Our deepest, most sincere wishes for your future happiness, we extend to you now and always. 4 y Sincerely, 10 N. W. Where is the hard stuff? NOW .. . TROUPS :' x - 2 V' iw' Busy day in the annual room. Now that I have everyone's attention During this year the yearbook staff has worked hard to preserve the memories of Kilgore High School for each student. It takes plenty of time and hard work to complete such a job. The people who have composed this yearbook will not receive enough credit for their endeavors. To each of them, I say thanks for the understanding and willingness displayed while working on the REFLECTOR. There is nothing I could say that would equal what Mrs. Carol Brown, faculty sponsor, has done for our yearbook. She deserves our sincere gratitude. And last of all thanks to everyone at Kilgore High School for the cooperation and the opportunity to serve K.H.S. in this way. Donna Osborn, Editor S Jones Furniture Co. P.O. In the Taylor Publishing Company world, we grasped ideas by the ton To make memories of KHS forever last. We ourneyecl to our meager workroom back With ambitious plans and hopes built high. We wanted our annual to be praised to the sky! But alas! For funds and money we lack. Yet we ne'er lost heart in the days ahead And throughout town and school our workers spread. We gathered pictures and gossip and ads- Anything to interest young high school gals and lads. Finally lay-outs were finished and all deadlines met with a sigh. Now in your hands the REFLECTOR you hold. This annual is a momento to remember friends by. The story of ole KHS has been lovingly told. 1 yr? ! gf 7 Af V 1.
