Watson The school year 1974-75 has been one of progress at Kilgore College under the leadership of Dr. Randolph Clark Watson. The enrollment has risen steadily. A new record was set in the fall with 4,002 students and in the spring with 4,055 students enrolled. Dr. Watson has been active for years in the Texas Public Junior College Association. This year, he was elected Chairman of the East Texas Regional Council of Community Colleges. In the past three years the campus has grown with the acquisition of the J. Malcolm-Kati Mae Crim School of Nursing property in Kilgore and the 40-acre Skipper Estate in Longview. On Sunday May 12, the new $1.5 million Canterbury Engineering Science Building was dedicated. In the summer, Old Main was renovated to house the East Texas Police Academy, Petroleum Extension Service, Mid-Management classes and office of the Dean of Occupational Education. Under Dr. Watson’s leadership, Kilgore College has gained National recognition for its excellent faculty, its school plant and its excellence oriented philosophy. Dr. Watson’s association with the College began in 1945 as a history-government teacher. He has served as Chairman of the Social Science Department, Director of the Technical Vocational Department and Dean of the College. He became president on July 31,1964. A. It is a memory book, a record of the schoo year, a reference book, a public relations medium and it is an educational experience. We have sincerely tried tc make this yearbook the best one ever published here. Many long days were spent contemplating, decision-making building and rebuilding the journal of the school year 1974-75. Our deepest thanks for all the help they have provided goes to: Mrs. Margaret Miller — Advisor, helper and friend. Mr. David Richards — School photographer, whose talent and work was appreciated. Mr. Ed McMeans — Our Taylor representative, whose advice and many trips to the College greatly helped the progress of the book. Leslie Cockerell — Sports editor, who wrote all sports copy. Tena Todd — Advertising editor, who billed our advertisers and sold ads. Wayne Smith — Good and reliable student photographer. Laurie Macmillan, Dixie Davidson and Sandra Spurlin, typists who worked on the class section. And finally, our greatest thanks goes to all students and faculty of Kilgore College. Rebecca Stewart, Editor-In-Chief William Bright, Associate Editor I
