CLASS HISTQRY Lets turn back the hands of trme and haye a glrmpse rnto the past of our graduatrng class of 53 Sept, 1941 Its the first day of school and the only faces that are recognrzed as strll berng, here are Janet Forthun Carroll Johnson Warren Oldfather Prrscrlla Otterstern Betty Ann Wrgern, and Lorna Yonkey Sept 1942 Thrs year we drdnt garn any new puprls Sept 1943 In our thrrd grade we were happy to haye Shrrley Kephart and Robert Parrrott Jorn us Sept 1944 Thrs year Alan Thorson fwho ls strll wrth usl Donald Dowd Hermrna Loge and Mertrce 'Vlartm Jorned our happy group Lowell Henderson left to attend school at 'Vlrnneapolrs Sept 1945 In thrs our nfth vear ElRoy Fllrngson Nlarrlyn Thompson and Lrla Hauge started at our Al ma 'Vlater Vlertrce 'Nlartrn left here to attend Blue Earth School Sept 1940 In thrs year three more of our senrors of today Jorned us They were l'u1,,ene Baumann Phyl lrs Courrrer and Lowell Krohnberg Arlo Ellrngson also came yyhrle Hermrna Loge and Lleanor Hrntz left Thrs year wa qurte unsettled for us We started out rn Room 4 then moved to Room 5 In the mrddle of the year they mowed a chrcken house rn from the country and we spent the remarnder of the year rn there Sept 1947 Our class was rncreased bv three namely Beverly Johnson Beverly Hoverson and Margaret Johnson but we also lost one member Lrla Hauge, who went to Vyashrngton Marrlyn lhompson was our carnrval queen candrdate Sept 1948 In our 8th grade year Edward and Edwrn Meyer Henry Schaper, and Anrta Schjer started at Ixrester Hrgh We were sorry to haye Donald Dowd leave us He went to Albert Lea Phyllrs Courrrer was our queen candrdate for thrs vear Sept 1949 Iyow we are freshmen and thrs was our Jack pot year Our class was rncreased by 19 members, namely lhrlrp Ackerman Rodney Engebretson Patty Haukoos, Shrrley Haukoos Jerry Herrrck Curtrs Hoehrelter er Dale Srmonson Rrchard Wacholz Rrchard Wrllner Grace Lourrrer, and Ruby 'Vladsen We lost three Beverly Hoyerson I:.lRoy and Xrlo Ellrngson Our carnrval queen candrdate for thrs year was LeAnn Lrndeman Sept 1950 Thrs year wasn t qurte so prosperous as we garned only three Jerry Hoel, Marlrn Schroader and Rrchard Meyer and lost one Anrta Schjer who went to 'Vlason Crty Candrdate for queen was Faye Parrrott Thrs year was one of the few rn whrch we had a class prcnrc It was held at Edgewater Park rn Albert Lea There were only 19 of Us who attended Sept 1951 Our Junror year started out wrth no new addrtrons, but Evan Seedorf Jorned us rn the mrddle of the year Drck Nleyer left fors'VIason Crty Tl'-rs year was one of our most controversral years We were determrned to have a prom so we argued and pctrtroned untrl we got rt Our theme was Moonlreht and Roses, and Henry Charles and hh Orcheetla furmbhed the dance musrc Thrs was the hrst Irom Banquet ever held rn Krester Hrgh School and rt was a grand success In Noyember we had our Junror class play Off the Track whrch was a success Durrng the same month the annual school carnryal was held Our queen candrdate was Beverly Johnson Sept 1952 At last we re senrors Nlarrlyn Thompson left for Fresno, Calrfornra, and 'lfiarlrn Schroader 'Vlar garet Johnson and Robert Parrrott drdn t come back to school Ruth Paulson came from Albert Lea and In the mrddle of the year Pranklrn Hamson came from Wells to graduate wrth us Oct 14, we went to John s Studro at Lake Mrlls to have our graduatron prctures taken In November we agarn had our carnrval, wrth Ruth Paulson as our queen candrdate Thrs year for the filst trme we came out on top and Ruth was crowned Carnrval Queen of 52 53 by Nona Larson Carnrval Queen of .JI 52 On Aprrl 10 we went to Mrnneapolrs for Skrp day We went through Wold Chamberlarn I'reld the Ford plant artrflcral lrmb factory and WCCO N we are eagerly antrcrpatrng our graduatron Then each of the 36 senrors wrll go hrs separate way, enter r catron of hrs chorce BETTY ANN WARREN and JANET , y .
