Tennis Finish With Best Seasons It was a great year, probably one of the best we have ever had, stated '78 sophomore golfer Steve Palen. The '78 Chiefs golf team, coached by Mr. Iim Pearson, did an excellent job of rep- resenting the Brown and Gold of Kickapoo. They were a good group of golfers and worked well together, commented Pearson. Winning the SMSU relays, placing second in conference, and qualifying for state tournament were just a few of the winnings that made this season so reat g While increasing in popularity the last few years, the '78 boys' tennis team also had one of their best over all seasons. With a new coach, Mr. lim Springston, the tennis Chiefs tied for second at the SMSU relays and placed fourth in the district tournament.
