Sean Allison, Iohn Roper, Ieff Lierz, and David Duncan, the enthralling 200 medley invited acclaim with the pool record and ranking third in the state. Divers were imbued with abundant talent as Steve Richerson, Louis Champagne, and Tracy Maxfield qualified almost effortlessly. Girl tankers also immersed in stellar year, were- led by Patty I-Ielm, Terri Ross, Lisa Bonacker, and Patty Ross en route to state. Sil- ver medal honors in the all-city and districts wrapped the girls' year in fine fashion.

Hillcrest ' W f Memorial I W , Carthage W 1 District W Matmen see action both Iocallg and at state For the first time in their history, the Chiefs captured the District Wrestling Championship and sent ten men to the Regionals in Kansas City. With only four seniors on the squad the chiefs were strong in all weight classes and lun- ior Tim Iones turned in a record of 25-0 to be the best of the season. Not only did the varsity turn in a good record but both Iay-Vee ended their season at 5-1 and freshmen at 4-1. A good coach is important and the Chiefs had the best, Coach Charles Sanders was named Coach of the Year and Tim Iones Wrestler of the Year in district 2-A.
