Foushee describes the '78 tennis season. We were mostly underclassmen with little or no experience at playing competition tennis. Competition tennis is when there is a great amount of pressure placed on each member. Unless they have had much experience playing it, they usually have a hard time handling the pressure and can't play as well as they might play, states Coach Brenda Goodwin. Valuable experience was gained however, and she looks forward to a winning season next year. The '78 Golf Team was coached by Mrs. Iudy Hoover. The team was made up of six enthusias- tic girls who were eager to learn. They did not do as well as hoped, but, like the tennis team, they gained experience and valuable knowledge. They look forward to a winning season next year also.

Through the 1978-79 season, they carried on that tradition. Varsity ended their season with a 19-9 record. Coach Sue Schuble feels the girls did very well considering they were a young team with only two starting seniors. The team won the regional championships and from there went to state competition where they were beaten in the first round. Iunior Varsity, with the prestigious reputation of being undefeated since Kickapoo's opening, broke their winning streak with a single loss which brought their record to 15-1, yet they still defended their impressive record against many older and more experienced teams.
