Cross Countrg Wins: Trackers Qualifg This being Kickapoo's first year in Cross Country competition, coached by Richard Clark, the team placed fourth in the SMSU Relays. Kevin McLauchlin was a medalist in all meets and finished seventh in District. Also outstanding was the boys' track team with 11 qualifying for the state meet. The two- mile relay team of Dave Rush. Mike Drewry, Rob Bailey, and Gower Anderson finished second in the state with a time of 71595. the best time ever run by a Southwest Missouri team. Ten school records were broken or tied. The girls' track team, coached by Mrs. Brenda Goodwin, finished first in seven of eleven meets, including the All-City, Conference, and District meets. They sent eight girls to state.
