D4 Wm On September 8 and 9 , 1956, Mr. Schmid and twenty-three boys attended the annual fat calf and lamb show in St. Louis and for the 18th consecutive year our fat lambs won first place at the show. Boys showing lambs were as follows: Bobby Beaver, Ierry Brewer, Gerry Faris, I. D. Gaw, Bill 1-leiman, Gary Kuhler, George Lampe, Bill Richards, Iohn Rucker, and Iim Shannon. Boys showing calves were as follows: James Atterbury, Iohn Dinsmore, Larry Duncan, Ierry Ellis, Donald Preese, Gerald Friesz, Donald Friesz, Iames I-Iammons, Larry Peters, Bill Richards, john Schluckebier, Richard Schmid, David Stahl, and Maurice Young. Keytesville won first in the lamb division and second place in the cattle division. We exhibit- ed a total of 279 lambs and 69 calves. Our gross receipts for both shows was S2l,255. 09. We also won S293. 00 in prize money. A summary of our entire supervised farming program for the year is as follows: we produced 50,000 pounds of beef, 13,000 pounds of pork, 45,000 pounds of mutton, 4,050 pounds of wool, 1,560 pounds of butter fat, 4,810 bushels of corn, 925 bushels of wheat, 30 tons of alfalfa hay, and 6, 672 pounds of tobacco. Gross income totaled S47,826. 647 expenses totaled S3 2 ,760.15, leaving a net profit of S15,066. 49. Labor income amounted to Sl7,161.72. The Green Hand initiation was held September 25 , and the Chapter Farmer Initiation on October 4. The annual Barnwarmin' was held October 12 , with two-hundred attending. Officers attended the National F. F. A. Convention in Kansas City on October 15, 16, and 17. The annual Parent and Son banquet was held April 5 with approximately two-hundred attending.
