Speech Scenes Success marked speech class plays and projects. In spring, '71 Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's hilarious farce You Can't Take It With You was presented at Trinity Baptist Amphitheatre. This fall i'Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters was presented to parents and student body and by special invitation at McCollum High School. Cast mem- bers included Lee Lumpkin, Barb Bodager, Lynda Tussay, Skip Mencio, Kate Cordts, Lizzie Newman, julie Hodges, Charles Mobbs, Cindy Tussay, and Stephen Wagner. Students entered many speech meets, festivals and tourna- ments, including those held at Central Catholic High School, Churchill High School, Trinity University, and Roosevelt High School. A color film project Dead To Begin ivirhr starring '71 and '72 speech students and edited by Stephen Wagner was com- pleted and presented to English and speech classes. Speech teacher and production director Mrs. J. Bathke, Mr. Mike Bathke, and art instructor Mrs. P. Mullins dedicated many hours to make these successes complete. River Anthology .
