Vice Principal Keystone Oaks, Annapolis Avenue,extends a fond farewell and best wishes to its former Vice Principal Mr. William Spence who left at midyear to assume new duties as principal of K.O.'s .freshmen, presently housed at the Myrtle Avenue School. He is rightfully par- ticularly proud of the year of unification when the students led by Student Council and its sponsor Mr. Spence helped to select a new school name, seal, mascot, and flag. Keystone Oaks students remember his understanding and interest in them and his friendly smile, and realize that their loss is the freshmen's gain. wg-nur-f , . WILLIAM SPENCE Already well known and respected among the students is Mr. John Manion who, as the new Vice Principal, is one of the latest ad- ditions to K.O.H.S. A former teacher in the Penns Hills school system, Mr. Manion is quickly getting into the swing of things. His duties include taking care of discipline prob- lems , scheduling graduation events , guiding the junior and senior class officers, and serving on the scholarship and awards committee. Keystone Oaks is glad to have Mr. Manion and hopes his stay is long and pleasant. A

Principal MR. MICHAEL A. BABYAK Keystone Oaks is most for- tunate to be served by such an efficient office staff ..Mrs .Brobeck and newcomer Mrs. Dent, both secretaries, and Receptionist Miss Mills are faced daily with a great work load which involves keeping attendance and student records, handling the school's bulging correspondence, greeting tardy students and visitors, and manning the switchboard. They are helped in their work by stu- dent assistants. Faced with one of the world's toughest jobs, that of principal, is Mr. Michael Babyak. It is up to him to see that the school is running smoothly as he acts as a liason between his capable fac- ulty and over a ,thousand stu- dents, each with own particular needs and problems. Mr. Babyak is called upon to preside at many functions and to address various assemblies throughout the year. He also bears the great responsi- bility of recommending students for college admission and job appointments. In a pinch, Mr. Babyak can even be found sub- stituting for an ailing teacher. She checks absentees upon their return, administers audio and visual tests, and maintains a personal record of each stu- dent. Most important she is always available for medical consultations during the school day. On special occasions, Dr. Rodgers provides medical aidfor the students.
