chool Board n .125 John A. Lammert f':r?: ' President Russell K. Montgomery Maurice R. McDonnell Walter D. McClellan ' Since July, 1966, the Keystone Gaks School Board has consisted of nine members, with each of the three boroughs in the dis- trict electing three. This year 's major tasks have involved continued coordination of the programs of the formerly separate districts and planning for an addition to one of the elementary schools and the construction of the new senior high school. The work on the new buildings has necessitated many extra meetings with financial advisors, architects, county and state educators, and contractors. The board members' more routine duties include work on the six standing committees: Property and Supplies, Finance, Athletic and Activities, Education, Transportation, and Policy and Legislation. Their regular meetings, generally scheduled for the second Monday of every month, are opened to the public. These conscientious men certainly deserve a vote of confidence and a big thank you for their dedicated and time-consuming service. They are ably assisted by Secretary Eleanor McDonnell and Solicitor Herbert Brownlee.

Superintendent I' l 1 1 L L e 4 5 Q Dr. JAMES S. ACKELSON JR. Keystone Oaks extends its welcome to one of its newest members, Dr. Ackelson, who joined the district July, 1966, as super- intendent. The former superintendent of Avalon Borough, he obtained his bachelor's degree from Edinboro State College and his masters and doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh. As the executive officer of the school district, it is Dr. Ackelson's duty to see that the legislative policies of the School Board are carried out. Being in closer con- tact with students and faculty, he also makes many recommendations to the Board. His greatest problem in the last year has been to create uniformity among the three old districts. He is looking forward to future adventures in developing the potentialities of the school system with the assets of the new high school and the possibility of comput- erized courses.
