This honor brings to the student the obligation to im- prove conditions around him and promote the qualities of Leadership, Character, Scholarship, and Service for which the National Honor Society stands. Dunhoff, K. Ripple, T. Brakalov. Awards Assembly in June. In the past National Honor Society has established the academic and citizenship honor rolls and dress-up day. This year it sponsored the Academic Banquet for those seniors graduating with honors. Richard Sims acted as president, Andrea Illig as vice-president, Gretchen McManus as secretary and Jean Courtwright as treas- urer of this year's National Honor Society. 141

One representative or one alternate representative from each home- room meet twice monthly to discuss school problems and suggestions for school im- provement. The organization acts as a mediator between faculty and student body. Student Council met this year under the direction of Mr. Frank B. Lennox. Rick Lammert officiated as president, Ron Morris as vice president, Elaine Gray as secretary, Denise Dick as treasurer and Sue Bodamer as corresponding secretary.
