This year's Eagle squad began ,their 1966 season with perhaps the toughest H G Q schedule in the W.P.I.A.L. competition. After defeating traditional rival South eg AN f Hills in the opener, the Oaks droppedaheartbreaklng struggle to South Allegheny. 5'3:,.--, ' The squad then dropped ball games to Class A champions, Sto-Rox, and to a f very successful Bethel team. The Eagles rebounded with a victory over Upper ' 5,9 V, ' St. Clair, before losing to Montour, a team which has lost only one game since -ffm 'A ' ' ' 1961. Victories over Moon and Brentwood brought the team to a .500 mark. The ' ' final game of the season with Mt. Lebanon, Class AA champs, and perhaps the best squad in Western Pennsylvania, was a tough one for Coach Earl Ceh. Even Earl Ceh Mr. though we lost, many people were surprised at the performance of the Eagles, who were predicted to be crushed by the powerful Blue Devils. This years Eagle squad was characterized by many trademarks. Among the most important were fine spirit and desire to win. Dlscounting AA opponents, the team came through 66 with a fine 3-3 record. Keystone Oaks end, Rick Lammert, and halfback, John Lee, were honored to make Class A All-Star team. The fine tradition of Keystone football should continue next year with the returning of 5 lettermen and many impressive junior Varsity and freshman players.
