They make up the Keyser High School stu- dent council for the school term of 1950-1951. During this year the council elected a new sponsor, Coach Frederick Tack Clark. This is the first year that Coach Clark has been the pilot of the student council. Getting down to brass tacks and hard work, your student court has sponsored many in- teresting and valuable activities. They were: the monthly best citizen, a drive to better traffic in the halls, the annual popularity con- test, Miss Golden Tornado contest and ball, and many other helpful drives and features. The entire student body elected and supported their officers of this organization. The results of the election show two seniors and one junior leading the polls. They are as follows: president, Vernon Ryan, vice-president, P. T. Dayton, secretary-treasurer, Andrew Porter. R QQ? EC! For the initial time in three years, Keyser defeated the Martinsburg Bulldogs to go to the Regional tourney at Fairmont. The hoopsters of KHS now have a few records to shoot at, an individual score of 325 points in a season. Andrew Texas Porter set this all time high by breaking the previous high of big Bill Davis 290. Also. Porter and Lester Hamilton tied for high in any one game, 28 points. Shelton's cagers dumped in 484 field goals and 276 of the 482 charity stripe tries totaling 1244 points. The opponents only racked up 980 points by collecting 364 txvo pointers and 252 for 489 foul lane attempts. This produces a season aver- age of 56.5 tallies for KHS and 44.5 on the opponents side of the scoreboard. After practices the Tornado made its debut by opening up the guns on the Elk Garden Elks 54-26. Over the Christmas holidays, Allegany dropped before the mighty KHS 63-31. The feature attraction of this game was Andy Porter racking up 21 points. Again on the home court Romney xvas edged out 48-41. Hitting the road for the first time, Xloorefield handed the Golden Tornado a 53-37 PVC de- feat. The Black and Gold bounced back from defeat over Piedmont 42-35 and Romney in a repeat performance 62-52. ln both tilts Porter accounted for 18. ln a scoring race between Carl Hartman and y......
