Every school day, bus driver's drag themselves out of bed to start a cold bus and transport a bus load of tired kids to school. If that is not enough, they repeat the action again at 3 pm. Faithful cooks make an appearance bright and early to make sure starving students have a meal to get them through the day. Not many people say much about our custodians. They do such a good job of keeping our school clean and in working order that we often overlook the fantastic job they do. Thanks to all these people our school keeps running. Pass the syrup. J: but do we really know the people behind the faces of those ahomework-hungry monsters at the front of the room? The annual staff decided to expose the personalities of these teachers to the stu- dent body to prove our faculty is. in fact. human. Did you know, for instance: 'Ihat 17927 of our teachers attended college out of state, and 70'Zp of the other 83921 attended Panhandle State University? That 752 do not have a degree beyond a Bachelors but the remain- ing 25'Zp have a Masters? Of those not having a masters, a good part of them have hours beyond their Bachelors? That 75 Zp grew up in Oklahoma and 5676 of those in Cimarron County? That our teachers have a total of I66 years of teaching experience among them, and l0l of these years passed right here in good ole Keyes High? That we have one Grade A faculty here at KHS? We would like to take this opportunity to thank them! fA ceremony seldom enacted by the student body.J Wl1atGwesYowwGfwabQenwohA ' '? Mrs. Stark: Seeing a student improve. Why DtzLYow Become afTeaclww'? Mrs. Stark: I always wanted to be one: even in grade school, I love school and learning. Mr. Rhoton: Good question!!! Coach Whitehead: I enjoy being around school age students, I also enjoy social studies and coaching, and feel this is a good opportunity to be able to do both. Besides, I like the nine-month work year. Mrs. Elms: I had examples set before meg most relatives and respected friends were teachers. Mr. Clwords To help others accomplish their goals. Mrs. Rhoton: When I was taking my first business course in high school in Califomia, I had a great business teacher. She made such an impression on me tha-t I said that I would like some day, to teach students as much as she had taught meg and, in that way, pay her back for her dedication. I am sure that the fact that my mother was a school teacher influenced my decision in being a teacher also. Mr. Hanes, Mrs. Overton, and Coach Davis all became teachers because they like working with young people. Pirate . . . 9
