MUSIC DEPARTMENT DEVELOPS TALENT The primary purpose of the Music Depart- ment at Key West High School is to contribute towards the musical educational develop- ment of boys and girls. There are many benefits offered since the music program is one of the best means of discovering and developing musical talent. Music participation provides a sense of be- longing in the school community. Music provides a strong emotional outlet and develops boys and girls into better school citizens and more dependable individuals. We feel that music teaches these young adults one worthwhile use of their leisure time. William Higgins X films E s i ii , N sk-, -X - Q, QE 1 E: EQ! Not only is a student taught to drive, but he must also learn the basic fundamental devices of the car itself. When a student completes this course, he is far ahead of a person the same age who just received a licence. This year the Drivers Education Department of Key West High School is proud that it has two cars which enables our students to acquire better driving skills. One a standard shift, which is found in older cars and a very few new ones. The other, is the automatic shift, which is easier to drive and is found only in newer model cars. This course also covers everything necessary to be a good sportsmanlike driver. Many films, charts, and statistics are presented to the stu- dent for a more rounded view of driving.
