BAND The Band and Girls' Glee Club, under the direction of Mr. Sinclear, thi year, as in past years, presented a Christmas Program and a Spring Concert. Both departments represented KHS at the Solo and Ensemble District Music Festival at Cedarburg. The band, consisting of forty-four grade school and high school students, performs as a pep band at football and basketball games, and also plays in various civic parades during the summer. The Girls' Glee Club of sixty voices has sung at various school functions and presented the annual operetta. It appears hopeful that next year the Girls' Glee Club will evolve into a Mixed Chorus. FORENSICS BOTTOM ROW: G. Guttman, S. Harbeck, N. Fickler, B. Kober, S. Gruhle, A. Schwind. SECOND ROW: Miss Delfeld, G. Edwards, I. Weber, A. Seefeldt, G. Koepke, C. Rossow, Mrs. Hanselman. The combined efforts of Forensic coaches and students made last year's Forensic record one of which we can be especially proud. The annual forensic activities began with a meeting of all those who were interested in entering the contest. Miss Delfeld and Mrs. Hanselman were in charge of all activities. The various groups in which the stu- dents participated were the following: Serious and Humorous Decla- motions, Extemporaneous and Interpretative Readings, Original and Non-Original Orations, and Four-Minute Speeches. The ten students who received A ratings at the local contest went on to the Tri-County contest at Oakfield. There, seven students received A ratings and went to the district contest at Oshkosh. At this contest four received A ratings and went to the state contest at Madison. Jonathan Weber, Geraldine Guttman, Barbara Walters, and Audrey Kral were the state contestants. 33
