SENIORS We got off to a slow start last fall but when we did get started, things really happened First came a bake sale on Septembex 24th It was held at Gillespies Locker Plant Then tame the great day we had benn thinking about since last year Our Sneak Day' We metst Betty Kn1cker's house at 6 A M just a few minutes before we left for Chicago W attended the Railroad Fair in the morning and went to see a baseball game between the Chicago Cubs andthe St Louis Card inals in the afternoon Shortly afterthis adventu e, a similar one followed It happened October llth,the daywe had our Senior picturestaken Onthat afternoon practicallythe whole Senior class decided to take a short vacation No one, outside of ourselves, and especially the teachers were to know anything about it Most of us went to Logansport to the show, but a few went to Mont but we wished we were wkenthe halls resounded withthe boom of Mr DuBois' voice It was quite a sermon! Our grades showed improvement in the next week because of the studying we did during the noon hour for six days To makethe Halloween Carn1val,whichwasheld October 28th, bigger and better, we sponsored a king contest as well as the customary queen contest The honors went to Donnabelle Van Duyne as queen and Jerry Talbott as king On November 17th we journeyed to Culver to see the show, Hamlet It was right in line with our literature as wewers studying another of Shakespeare's plays, Macbeth However, everyone enjoyed and remembered Hamlet more than Macbeth Sincewe weresuccessfulin having a chili supperlast year, we tried it again on January 25th We weren't quite assuc cessful as we were previously but at least we came out afew dollars ahead We began to work on our Seniorplay rather early this year and gave it in 'arch The name ofit was nP1gtails Its cast consisted of eight girls and four boys During January and ebruary weundertookthetask of selling stationary With a lot of hard work we managed to make a fair profit Louise Pfiefer ..t, 5.3 . . , O .. I UN IDRS On November the 9, 1949 the Juniors of Kewanna Pigh Qchool were all excited and didn't exactly know which way to turn After all that night they were to give their first school play Mr Hardin was their director and the cast are as follows Tillie Trask. Lucinda Talbot. Pamela Marsh Lizzie Parsons Ellen Neeland Luther Lorrimer Mervin Tucker Loree Graham Gloria Bowman Carolina Renee Bonnie Mosher Lois Polen Joe Ingram Tom Enyeart Charlie One Lung Howard Hickle Mrs Tillie Tucker Joan Smith Dr Hattie Bing Nancy Whiteside Quite a cast don't you think? They all did avery nice job with their parts and we wish them just as much luck on their play next year The Juniors have done very well on all the1r'projects for making money this year Besides giving their play they also sold Christmas cards at Christmas time They made a large profit off of these They also sold at all the home basket ball games.
